Our client is seeking a hands-on Evening Shift Supervisor to lead and support their production team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining quality standards, driving team performance, and supporting key production areas such as laser cutting, press brake operations, or MIG welding.

- Salary: £37,752 - £41,291 per annum (inclusive of 18% evening shift uplift)
- Benefits: 22 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with each year of service, 3 extra days off during Christmas closure, birthday leave if it falls on a working day, free sandwich van on-site twice a week
Key Responsibilities
- Set and communicate daily production priorities in collaboration with the Team Leader
- Allocate tasks and manage workloads across the evening shift team to meet targets
- Ensure all team members have the necessary tools, resources, and information to perform their duties efficiently
- Work from technical drawings, completing and signing off finished work to required specifications
- Monitor team performance and hold individuals accountable for meeting output expectations
- Provide hands-on support in key production areas such as laser cutting, press brake operation, or MIG welding, as needed
- Train team members on quality standards, safety practices, and operational procedures
- Uphold health & safety standards, ensuring a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment
- Accurately gather and process timesheets for payroll and attendance purposes
- Record and report key production and quality data to support departmental performance tracking
- Participate in customer and supplier visits, ensuring that quality and process expectations are clearly represented and upheld
- Identify and report any deviations from agreed standards or procedures
- Follow all quality assurance procedures, including those aligned with ISO9001 and other relevant standards
- Carry out any additional tasks or responsibilities as directed by your Line Manager
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements
- Proven experience in at least one of the following areas: MIG welding, laser cutting, or press brake operation
- Previous experience in team leadership or supervisory roles, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment
- Confident in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings
- Good IT skills, with the ability to navigate production-related systems and tools
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail, with a clear commitment to maintaining high quality standards
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to shifting priorities and demands
- Team-focused and approachable, with strong time management and self-discipline
- Valid UK driving licence required
- Ideally you will have a fork lift licence, however training can be provided if not
