ContractDate Advert Closes: 10 January 2025

At Home Instead, we offer industry‑leading care and support to adults in their own homes in the local area. Our Care Assistants benefit from award‑winning training and ongoing support throughout their career journey, with options for accredited training in Dementia, Parkinson's and End of Life Care. We are committed to changing the face of ageing through delivering quality care to our clients and best‑in‑class education to our Care Assistants.

If you're looking for a profession where you can bring your caring personality to work and change lives, look no further!

Do you have spare time in the evenings between 5 pm and 10 pm and availability on alternating weekends? We're looking for a new team member who will visit clients in their own homes in Gloucester during the evening and weekends. No two client visits are ever the same and each client has an individual care plan tailored to their needs and aims. Care plans may include:

  • Personal care, helping your client to wash and dress, get ready for bed or help with self‑care.
  • Support with medications.
  • Meal preparation and cooking dishes from scratch.
  • Companionship including supporting clients to do the activities they enjoy, like puzzles or watching game shows, or just having a catch‑up over a cup of tea!

You don't need any experience to become a domiciliary Care Assistant at Home Instead! We offer comprehensive and ongoing training, as well as shadowing when you begin work with us.

Must have a means of transport as clients are predominately cared for in their own homes, or would like you to accompany them on appointments or outings and can live in remote areas.

Benefits of working at Home Instead Gloucester and The Forest of Dean:

  • Competitive pay from £14 to £15.68 per hour including guaranteed holiday pay.
  • Professional development opportunities including City & Guilds accredited courses and the option to enrol in a paid‑for Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Become part of a friendly and reputable company with a large community outreach, with opportunities to be involved in local events and fundraising for our Home Instead Charities.
  • Access to discounts for big brand stores, utility providers and more.
  • Complimentary wellness programme with access to 24‑hour wellbeing support as well as financial resources, access to healthcare and counselling.
  • Support from our 24‑hour on‑call team to help you with any queries or concerns.
  • We match our clients and Care Assistants allowing you to build professional relationships with your clients who you will see on a regular basis. Each of our care visits is a minimum length of one hour, allowing our care to be person‑centred and relationship‑led.
