About the Role
To lead and shape the strategic management of all European Strategic Broker and Portfolio Agreements, acting as the primary executive responsible for cultivating, deepening, and managing senior‑level relationships with key brokers.
To second the Head of Client and Distribution Europe in all distribution related matters with a specific focus on overseeing Portfolio Solutions distribution and Go To Market strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Relationship Management
- Serve as the principal executive contact for LSM’s most significant broker relationships at European level, building, nurturing, and expanding senior‑level partnerships to drive mutual growth and strategic alignment.
- Lead negotiations and annual contract renewals with strategic brokers, ensuring LSM’s interests are maximised and relationships are future‑proofed.
- Represent LSM at the highest level in external meetings with strategic brokers, influencing outcomes and ensuring LSM’s positioning as a partner of choice, including LSM senior where appropriate
- Act as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic insight and guidance on broker relationship management.
2. Governance & Framework Leadership
- Own and continuously enhance the governance framework for broker relationship management, ensuring best‑in‑class processes, compliance, and alignment with LSM’s strategic objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of all Strategic Broker and Portfolio Agreements, working closely with senior leaders across Distribution, Legal, Compliance, and other regions.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to governance and process frameworks, ensuring agility and responsiveness to market changes.
3. Strategic Distribution Model
- In agreement with the Head of Client and Broker Distribution, design and implement a robust broker segmentation model at European level, ensuring effective local adaptation and execution.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the broker distribution model, providing strategic r²ecommendations for optimisation.
- Act as the escalation point and senior relationship manager for top brokers, handling complex requests and issues with authority.
4. Portfolio solutions distribution Strategy and Go to Market
- Define the strategic distribution approach for Portfolio Solutions across Europe, ensuring a unified and consistent execution in all markets.
- Work in close partnership with the Portfolio Solutions Distribution leader to align objectives, processes, and performance standards to ensure that the established strategy is effectively communicated and implemented throughout the region, supporting the Invest In Europe strategy.
5. Data, Analytics & Market Insights
- Lead the evolution of Distribution Management Information, leveraging advanced analytics (e.g., Power BI) to deliver actionable insights on broker and product line performance.
- Oversee the development of new metrics and reporting tools to support strategic decision‑making and relationship management.
- Champion a data‑driven culture within the Distribution team, ensuring insights are translated into strategic actions.
6. Leadership & Special Projects
- Deputise for the Head of Client and Broker Distribution as required, providing senior leadership across the Distribution function.
- Lead or sponsor high‑impact, cross‑functional projects and strategic initiatives, including market expansion and client‑facing projects.
- Mentor and develop Distribution team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
7. Regulatory & Conduct Responsibilities
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in senior Distribution Management roles within the insurance sector, with a proven track record of managing and growing strategic broker relationships at executive level.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing and executing strategic broker distribution plans.
- Strong commercial acumen and market awareness, with the ability to influence at Board and Executive Committee level.
- Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages an advantage.
