Job summary

A building contractor based in Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team. You will prepare cost estimates, handle tender submissions, and oversee surveying functions. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Construction or Quantity Surveying and 3-4 years of post-graduate experience. Overview

A building contractor based in the Co. Derry area has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join the team. You will be involved on new build housing & building projects within NI.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare analytical prime cost estimates for presentation
  • Obtain suitable market quotations to substantiate prime cost.
  • Production of tender enquiry submission documents.
  • Identify risks and prepare risk register.
  • Undertake all Surveying functions with direct supervision in order to maximise profit and cash flow.
  • Prepare reports for financial control and management.
  • Identify contractual and contract related claims opportunities and, where appropriate, prepare suitable responses and information.
  • Contract and Subcontract administration. Timely and proper actions and notices.
  • Undertake regular material and other reconciliations are undertaken on all projects.
  • Ensure that all works carried out under the main contract and subcontract agreements are subject to re-measurement in accordance with the appropriate method of measurement.
Qualifications

This role would suit a QS/ Estimator with a minimum of 3-4 years' post-graduate experience. You will possess a degree in Construction/ Quantity Surveying, be self‑motivated and work cooperatively as part of a team. Strong IT skills are necessary, with good commercial acumen.
