Permanent | Leading Main Contractor

Are you an experienced Estimator looking to take the next step with a dynamic and well-established construction business? We're working in partnership with a reputable main contractor who deliver a diverse range of projects across the North West — from commercial and education through to healthcare and residential developments.

Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now seeking either a Senior or Intermediate Estimator to join their commercial team in Manchester.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in the pre-construction process — preparing accurate cost plans, tenders, and value engineering options for a variety of projects. Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager, Commercial Director, and wider delivery teams, you'll ensure competitive and commercially viable bids are submitted.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for design & build and traditional projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess project requirements
• Liaise with supply chain partners and subcontractors for pricing and quotations
• Work collaboratively with the commercial and delivery teams to support bid strategy and handover
• Undertake value engineering exercises and contribute to cost planning during early project stages

About You

We're keen to speak to Estimators at Intermediate or Senior level who have experience within the main contracting environment.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a building contractor (main contractor or large regional builder)
• A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• A proactive and professional approach to client and stakeholder relationships
