Job description

An opportunity to join a Global Civil Engineering contractor, with a UK turnover in excess of £80million. Abatec is working with an industry leader in delivering major highway and power infrastructure projects across the UK, in the recruitment of a permanent Estimator. Based in Swindon, our client requires an Estimator with a Civil Engineering background and experience in developing tender strategies, design feasibility, producing activity schedules and BoQ's through to tender submission.

Responsibilities

• Have worked on tenders within the Civil Engineering industry.
• Be responsible for preparation and submission of all bids.
• Analyse labour, material and plant subcontractors for best value.
• Have working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Experience of reviewing contract terms and Conditions, identifying and clarifying scope of work at Tender stage and creating commercial strategies.
