Weekly Hours: 32.00

Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00

Department Details

We are like family in our department. The position is 5:30 am to 2:00 pm; it is every other weekend and every other holiday.

Responsibilities
  • Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas for patients, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform tasks including emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients and facility staff.
  • Clean patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other areas to meet health standards.
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment and keep storage, equipment, and carts clean and stocked.
  • Use pagers and other technology as required; assist in laundry areas as appropriate; may have access to technology applications depending on location.
  • Work hours may vary by location and program availability, including potential overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience.
  • Ability to use computer; prior cleaning experience is helpful.
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is beneficial.
