Overview

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technician services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our team for a tunnel construction project in Tilbury, Essex, 100% Onsite.

Project

Tunnel construction project.

Estimated Duration

Estimated Duration: 6 months. In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to environmental objectives in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement of environmental performance across the project.
  • Keep up to date with environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Draft/review environmental documentation (Environmental Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, etc.).
  • Support briefings and communications so employees and subcontractors understand and apply environmental plans.
  • Assist with on-site compliance monitoring and documentation per standards and technical requirements.
  • Prepare environmental and sustainability reports for senior management; support audits and investigations.
  • Advise on environmental requirements and best practice; champion innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Help develop measurement systems (e.g., SmartWaste, internal trackers) and support incident investigations.
  • Promote customer requirements; take ownership of assigned work; ensure safe working practices; conduct site audits/inspections, toolbox talks, and ad-hoc environmental training.
Requirements
  • Degree or Master’s (Civil, Environmental, or related disciplines considered).
  • English C1; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, commercial awareness, and MS Office proficiency.
  • Proactive, resilient, results-driven; able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines; a proven team player.
  • Desirable: IEMA (or similar) membership; knowledge of environmental and H&S legislation; CSCS card; prior environmental experience.
  • Willing to commute or relocate to Tilbury.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, ~40 hours/week.
