About the Role

Are you looking for a career that is genuinely rewarding, sits at the cutting edge of major project development, and allows you to make a real difference? Join the growing Sizewell C (SZC) team and contribute to one of the UK's largest and most exciting megaprojects, central to Britain's climate change strategy and energy future.

Following the success of Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C is a nuclear new-build project in Suffolk with planning approval and Government financial backing. Construction has commenced and the project is now seeking further private investment. Once operational, SZC will provide secure, low‑carbon electricity to six million homes for 60 years - helping the UK achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We are now seeking a site-based Environmental Advisor to support the SZC Delivery Construction Team as we continue to lead the UK's nuclear renaissance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting site inspections of contractor work areas and reporting observations or environmental issues.
  • Providing clear written and verbal guidance on environmental legislation, permits, and planning constraints.
  • Reviewing contractor Environmental Management Plans and RAMS to ensure compliance with regulations and SZC standards.
  • Supporting self‑assessments and internal audits against legislation, SZC procedures and environmental best practice.
  • Leading or supporting investigations into environmental incidents, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Identifying and escalating contractual issues to the Environmental & Sustainability Manager when necessary.
Operating Environment

You will work within the frameworks of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and multiple environmental permits and consents. Collaboration is key, and you will build strong working relationships with the SZC Client Team and Tier 1 partners to ensure all environmental and sustainability obligations are met.

  • Ability to work independently with excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Experience working within an ISO 14001‑compliant Environmental Management System.
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of one of the UK's most significant low‑carbon infrastructure projects.
  • Work on a complex, high‑profile programme that shapes the future of UK energy.
  • Join a collaborative, passionate team driven by sustainability and zero harm.
