Overview

English Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time English teacher in Hull ideally starting 15th September 2025 and lasting until at least October 17th 2025. This is a temporary position to cover a period of sickness absence, and as such may increase in the future.

Payment will be on the main teaching pay scale, between £32,916 and £51,048 (this may change if pay scales increase in the new academic year). Scaled down to a daily rate, this results in a daily payment between £168.80 and £261.78 depending on experience and qualifications. There is potential for a role where a candidate does not plan and mark but simply delivers, with payment between £140 and £180 per day depending on experience and qualifications.

This role involves teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Full planning and marking is expected, but there are some excellent lessons in the bank, making planning requirements minimal for this role. There is potential for an unqualified teacher/cover supervisor who is an English specialist/graduate to take on this role, with planning completed by the Head of Department at the school.

  • Potentially deliver without planning/marking, depending on role and agreement.
