Overview

GSL Education are recruiting! - English Teacher

Location: Totton

Salary Scale: £31,650 to £49,084 per annum

Start Date: ASAP

Are you eager to support students, including those with SEN, in developing their English lesson skills? This role is in a warm and welcoming SEN school located in Totton. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will uphold high standards in the English Department and ensure high-quality provision and effective teaching and learning in line with the English curriculum.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring English teacher to gain invaluable, hands-on experience in a thriving school community in Totton.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
• Demonstrate a strong desire to work within a SEN setting.
• Be approachable, flexible, and adaptable, with a focus on making a positive impact on students\' lives.
• Provide support to each student with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in an educational environment.
• Utilise effective communication and relationship-building skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Show passion for delivering high-quality education, care, and support to young people.
• When necessary, physically intervene using Team Teach techniques after de-escalation strategies have been unsuccessful (full training provided).
• Build strong team commitment with colleagues and engage pupils to motivate and inspire them in the classroom.
• Acquire appropriate books, teaching aids, and resources as needed

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK and not require sponsorship.
• Holds QTS or equivalent is essential.
• Exhibits proactive, energetic, compassionate, flexible and adaptable qualities
• Provides a verifiable work history
• Demonstrated teaching experience.
• Strong desire to work in a SEN setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and establish strong relationships.
