Engineering Stores Person (8-month FTC - Maternity Cover)

Location - Sherburn-in-Elmet

Shifts - Days (Monday - Friday)

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and verify incoming goods and materials against purchase orders
  • Label, store, and organise items appropriately within the warehouse
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's stock management system
  • Issue materials and components to engineers as required
  • Keep the stores area clean, safe, and well‑organised
  • Carry out regular stocktakes and cycle counts, resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare, package, and dispatch outgoing shipments
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores department
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in an engineering stores or materials handling role
  • Basic understanding of engineering components and their uses
  • Experience in stock control procedures, including stocktaking
  • Strong numeracy and accurate record‑keeping skills
  • Confident IT user with experience in Excel, inventory systems, and purchasing software
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and capable of handling warehouse duties safely
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 16:30

Salary

£27,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
