Qualifications

  • HV Authorized Person (currently in date or recently lapsed).
  • Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training if you have 17th Edition.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Shift Leader to join the team and successfully manage the already existing site engineers. One this site we offer complete site M&E services, and the successful applicant will look after one of the shift teams. You will be reporting directly into the Engineering Services Manager and be responsible for the Electrical maintenance on site and other duties that the client requires. This role will require to work a shift pattern of 12-hour shifts

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for your shift team and the engineers within your remit
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
  • Support the contract requirements as High Voltage and Low Voltage Authorized person providing switching schedules, planned and reactive support to all electrical systems.
  • Provide single point of contact in periods when technical manager is unavailable and make informed decisions regarding remedial activities and escalation procedures.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the plant.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of task sheets – hard copy or electronically as required
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and adhered to for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices.
  • Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in shift environments working in commercial environments.
  • Electrical / Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or similar
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
  • HV Authorized Person (currently in date or recently lapsed)
  • 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training if you have 17th Edition)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff
