Job summary

Job Description

An opportunity exists for an Engineer Officer who will manage and develop a team of two technicians and two inspectors and will liaise with the Roads Maintenance Client teams.

The Engineer Officer will be responsible for: statutory road works noticing; the management of the annual roads and footway resurfacing and patching programmes; the programming of the cyclic gully programme; financial management; absence management and disciplinary procedures.

Other duties include ensuring compliance with: Health & Safety legislation; the risk based approach of the Code of Practice Well - Managed Highway Infrastructure/Roads Safety Inspection and Repair Policy; the Winter Maintenance Plan; SRWR noticing and the technical requirements the Transport Bill.

It is essential that the applicant has a HNC / HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related subject, managerial and technical experience in roads and traffic front line service delivery, experience in managing technical staff, working knowledge of CDM regulations and a current driving licence.
