Job Description
  • Carry out hands‑on mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fitting work to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and perform effective troubleshooting on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and other site machinery.
  • Deliver and support preventative maintenance schedules, identifying potential issues before they impact production.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, ensuring work is completed to the highest quality and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and mechanical documentation.
  • Assist with the installation, overhaul, and commissioning of new or refurbished machinery.
  • Share mechanical knowledge and provide support to colleagues when required.
The Successful Applicant
  • A time‑served mechanical apprenticeship or a recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical fitting, fault‑finding, and equipment maintenance.
  • Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy‑process environment (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical safety standards, permits to work, and quality procedures.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive, safety‑focused approach to maintenance.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
