Overview

Job Role: Mechanical Engineer

Location: HMP Bullingdon OX25

Salary: £41,818.21 per annum

Contract: Permanent, 39 hours per week

We are seeking a Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at a HMP Bullingdon a category B male prison as a Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Join a Facilities Maintenance Team dedicated to the safe and smooth operation of HMP Bullingdon, contributing to a secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
• Collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators and others to deliver high-quality maintenance and enable rehabilitation and positive change.
• Apply your skills to support mechanical systems within a commercial or industrial context and ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
• Work within health and safety requirements and uphold safety, quality and operational standards.
• Utilise two years of experience in a plumbing-related role (or equivalent) and hold relevant qualifications to support job duties.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
• Familiar with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
• Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge; excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
