Overview

Job Role: Engineer - Combustion

Location: HMP Lewes

Salary: £41,818.21

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 39hrs

We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Combustion to join our team at HMP Lewes, a CATEGORY & Male Adult prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS. Joining us is your chance to help ensure prisons are secure and safe for prisoners and prison staff alike, and to play your part in helping prisoners reintegrate into society.

Holidays are 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays, and a range of non-contractual benefits are provided. Responsibilities
  • Join the Facilities Maintenance Team to support and drive the smooth and safe operation of the site.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across trades (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators) to deliver maintenance and safety improvements.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
  • Two years experience working in a role as a heating engineer, a combustion engineer or equivalent.
  • Familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Familiar with and able to work to Gas Safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry standards.
  • Experience of working with commercial catering gas appliances would be beneficial.
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units.
  • COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety certificate and relevant commercial units.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
