Job Title: Contract Manager

Salary: £45,000 per annum, company car / allowance, yearly bonus plus Veolia benefits

Responsibilities
  • What will you be doing?
  • Manage contracts within the portfolio, effectively utilising identified resources to ensure they meet both service delivery and budgetary targets, and the requirements in terms of Contract obligations and Legislation.
  • Assist Senior Contracts Manager in the Management and Control of the area, in particular execution of Veolia's Corporate objectives and continuous improvements.
  • This role is seen as part of succession planning for development to next level with the business.
  • Safety, Health and Environment
  • Ensure Supervisors and Technicians exercising management and control of HS&E, in terms of compliance to Veolia's standards and legislation
  • Maintain focus on 'Zero Harm'
  • Take an active role across the area to promote and encourage best HS&E practice in Contract Delivery
  • Maintain current Contract Health reviews with actions to improve contract delivery
  • Build relationships with customers with view to extend contracts, expand scope of work and sell other services to customers
  • Quality Management / Continuous Improvement
  • Utilise the Veolia support functions to assist with developing and executing Improvement plans
  • Able to recognise problems and use resources available to solve these problems
  • Work with wider teams to standardise processes to build resilience across contracts
  • Financial & Commercial Management
  • Ability to create and manage a multi-million £ budget
  • Work with your Supervisors and accountants to manage P&Ls and to track performance
  • Keep 'Lead in' forecast up to date and develop mitigation plans when forecasts indicate below target performance
  • In consultation with team prepare annual budgets and F1/2 forecasts and assist with presenting to Senior Mgt
  • Understand contracts to ensure Veolia extra full commercial value
  • People Management
  • Assist with succession planning for the area, to include mentoring graduates and talent within area
  • Develop training and development plans
  • Work with teams to ensure teams are motivated and delivering to a high standard
  • Business Development
  • Work with the local teams and BD to find and establish new business across the Yorkshire area
Qualifications
  • Experience and track record of delivering O&M services as a Contract Manager or above
  • H&S Qualification e.g IOSH Managing Safety
  • Background in Energy, Experience of operating, maintaining and managing utilities plant (i.e. CHP, boilers, chilled water, compressed air, treated water plants [demin, RO, softeners, etc]).
  • Working knowledge of the Electricity at Work and Pressure System Regulations and experience of supervising contractors.
  • Degree status preferred but not essential, HND, HNC considered with relevant experiences.
  • Electrical experience beneficial
