Overview

Energy Centre Engineer

£50,000 per annum to £60,000 per annum

Van and fuel card supplied

Must be gas safe

Need to have worked in an energy centre and plantroom

Ppms, test, diagnose, install

Work sites: 60% of sites East London; 20% West; 15% central London; 1 in saffron Walden

We supply candidates from executive to operative level, and are currently working with a Contractor who are looking for an energy centre engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all Quality Management and Compliance Documentation for Planned Preventative maintenance and reactive repair activities is accurate and complete for each site.
  • Proactively manage HSE objectives and Quality Standards and ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during the works within the clients Energy Centres/Plant rooms.
  • Make effective recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Adopt HSE Policies, Procedures and Objectives, and ensure they are achieved throughout area of responsibility. Ensuring PPE equipment is safe and in date for use.
  • Ensure that Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are satisfactorily carried out and documented in line with the Company's Management System. Diligently and accurately maintain, submit relevant documentation and records as required, and maintain Company Standards.
  • Provide a high standard of work and detailed reports.
  • Working to a programme of works, deliver the requirements of the visits and provide a detailed report.
  • Escalate issues with any sites to ensure they are quickly resolved.
  • Efficiency checks to sites where monitoring of the sites and implementing strategy changes will improve the operation and not affect the residents service.
  • Use the remote monitoring system to monitor changes in the operation to each development, recording temperature or operational changes that impact the efficiency of the network.
  • Investigate the network via each riser/block to ensure that the system is leak free and identify residential properties that are impacting the efficiency of the network.
  • Provide training to new employees and support their development.
  • Ensure that all Energy Centres operate above 99.5% of the year and be flexible for changes to reduce downtime at affected sites.
  • Provide a training programme for continual professional development.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and expertise on various types of Energy Centres and knowledge of District Heating networks. It is advantageous to have mechanical bias with electrical knowledge in a similar environment; with comprehensive understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation.
  • Non-Domestic Gas or F-Gas. Working safely, training will be provided.
  • Understand the cause and effects of inefficient Energy Centres and implement changes to improve the efficiency of the Network.
  • Heating systems - Direct and indirect, Energy Centre processes and supporting distribution systems.
  • UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship and/or be qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ level 2 in Plumbing/HVAC with Electrical qualifications and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
  • Experience working within Energy Centres and repairing various components.
  • Electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that allows you to work safely on single or 3-phase electrics.
  • Willingness to study for relevant Industry qualifications is essential.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Hot Water Systems or valid unvented hot water certification.
  • UK Driving Licence (already noted above).
