Job summary

A recruitment agency seeks an Electronics Engineer to join a Calibration & Maintenance Team in Tyldesley. The successful candidate will service and repair electrical and electronic test equipment, support calibrations, and work on complex missile systems. Required qualifications include an HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Competitive pay of up to £40 per hour offered for a 12-month onsite contract.

12 Month Contract - Inside IR35 - Onsite in Bolton

Up to £40 per hour umbrella

Job Role

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our Calibration & Maintenance Team, to service Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). These tasks include fault finding and repair of test equipment, supporting routine calibrations, commissioning of Test Equipment and drift analysis. You will be working within an experienced team of Calibration & Maintenance Engineers supporting complex test platforms in the manufacture and test of complex missile systems. You will be trained to calibrate and support special to type factory test equipment using a range of technologies, DC to Microwave.

Responsibilities
  • Service Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including STTE, and perform fault finding and repair.
  • Support routine calibrations and commissioning of Test Equipment.
  • Conduct drift analysis to monitor equipment performance.
  • Work within an experienced Calibration & Maintenance team supporting complex test platforms in missile system manufacture and testing.
  • Be trained to calibrate and support special to type factory test equipment using technologies ranging from DC to Microwave.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge in the calibration of test equipment and maintenance of test systems to component level.
  • Able to utilise instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications to provide technical advice/guidance and use this information to conduct measurements and repairs down to component level.
  • Good understanding of calibration principles and processes.
  • Able to mentor other or more junior staff when requested by line manager.
  • Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to the relevant audience.
  • A good understanding of SAP would be desirable.
  • Experience of working on Environmental Chambers is an advantage.
