Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager - Nuclear Defence (AWE, Berkshire)
Day Rate: 600-700 (Outside IR35)
Clearance: SC or DV (or eligible)

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager to join a major Nuclear Defence project at AWE in Berkshire. This is a rare opportunity to work on one of the most complex and technically demanding projects in the UK today, helping to deliver the safe and successful commissioning of critical security systems and facility controls.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safety guidance for all commissioning activities.
  • Manage, oversee and deliver commissioning work packages within a large-scale, complex infrastructure project.
  • Support the management and implementation of the overall project commissioning strategy.
  • Oversee the production, review and approval of supplier test documentation.
  • Plan, coordinate and integrate commissioning tests with suppliers.
  • Feed test requirements and prerequisites into project schedules.
  • Contribute to detailed construction scheduling to enable phased commissioning activities.
  • Track and report status of prerequisites and supplier-led commissioning progress.
  • Produce learning-from-experience reports and presentations.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement for commissioning activities.
  • Chair design, change and procedure reviews.
  • Manage changes to commissioning schedules, resources and forecasts.
About You
  • Extensive experience commissioning large facilities and electronic security systems, with a strong record of managing teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise-level security systems including:
  • Card access control
  • Intruder detection systems
  • CCTV systems
  • Perimeter intrusion detection systems
  • Strong understanding of both design and delivery aspects of security systems.
  • Proven experience in complex project delivery within defence or other highly regulated industries.
  • Solid understanding of commissioning methodologies.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
Security & Experience
  • Must hold or be eligible for SC or DV clearance.
  • Prior nuclear experience is essential - AWE project background highly advantageous.
