Job description
Solar Electrician

Location: South of England (Birmingham - London - Bristol area)

Hours: Mon–Fri, 40 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + overtime

We’re looking for a qualified Solar Electrician to join a growing team delivering renewable energy installations across Southern England. This role focuses on domestic solar PV work, with opportunities to support wider low‑carbon technologies as part of an expanding field operations team.

You will be working as part of a 2‑man team, so if you know a roofer / installer you would like to introduce, I am happy to send a joint application to my client.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Install domestic solar PV systems including panels, inverters, and associated electrical components
  • Carry out electrical wiring, connections, and system commissioning
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant electrical regulations and industry standards
  • Conduct testing, inspection, and fault‑finding on new and existing systems
  • Work closely with roofers and installers to coordinate safe and efficient installations
  • Provide clear explanations to homeowners regarding system operation
  • Complete all installation records, certification, and documentation accurately
What You’ll Need
Essential
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience working on renewables, particularly solar PV
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, positive approach
Desirable
  • ECS / CSCS card
  • Experience with MVHR wiring
  • 2391 Inspection and Testing
