Electrical Inspection & Test Engineer (Control Panels)
Location: Stone, Staffordshire
Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive

A leading engineering business working across energy, utilities, renewables and industrial automation is looking for an Electrical Inspection & Test Engineer to join its production team. You'll be inspecting and testing control panels, IT cubicles and wider automation hardware used in highly regulated environments. The work is hands on, technical and central to product safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electrical control panels and full control systems.
• Work from electrical schematics, wiring schedules and project test specifications.
• Carry out LVD checks, earth bond tests, insulation resistance tests, high voltage withstand tests, continuity checks and full power-up testing.
• Verify wiring, configuration, build quality and equipment functionality.
• Complete all test documentation and ensure compliance with LVD, EMC and customer standards.
• Support customer witness testing and occasional on site testing.
• Assist the software team with system tests when required.

Key Requirements

• Hands on experience testing wired assemblies and complete control systems.
• Strong ability to read circuit diagrams, GA drawings and wiring schedules.
• Confident using multimeters and electrical test equipment.
• Knowledge of MCBs, RCDs, fuses, transformers, power supplies and other panel components.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 compliant environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend client sites.
• Eligible to obtain SC clearance.
• Recognised electrical or electronic qualification such as HNC, HND, 17th Edition, Inspection and Test or a completed apprenticeship.
