As a Electrical Standards Engineer at Last Mile Asset Management, you will play a key part in ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance across our electricity networks. Using your electrical utility knowledge, you will develop, maintain, and implement engineering standards and best practices that support safe, efficient, and high‑quality infrastructure delivery. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will also support innovation and continuous improvement across the business.

Your responsibilities as a Electrical Standards Engineer
  • Electrical Safety Management – Oversee the day‑to‑day operation and performance of the Electrical Safety Management System, ensuring compliance across all electrical activities.
  • Standards & Procedures Development – Develop, implement, and continuously improve company policies, procedures, and engineering standards, including DNO / INA / BS specifications.
  • Competency & Authorisation Oversight – Lead the assessment and authorisation process for competent, authorised, and senior authorised persons working on the electricity distribution network.
  • Stakeholder & Industry Engagement – Liaise with ICPs to manage authorisations, support asset adoption, and represent the company on industry panels and forums.
  • Compliance & Accreditation Support – Support the Engineering Team to ensure operational processes meet health and safety standards and national accreditations, while maintaining up‑to‑date industry knowledge.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of national Distribution Safety Rules (DSRs) and experience in electricity network design, construction, commissioning and operations, LV networks including 33 / 11kV networks.
  • Proven ability to develop engineering standards, procedures, and specifications within an asset management environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical electrical engineering concepts across teams and stakeholders.
