The Role
We have an opportunity for an Electrical & Controls Technician to join and be responsible for the efficient, safe, and reliable operating condition of complex process and high‑speed food processing equipment. The role will mainly focus on providing equipment troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance, progressing to preventive maintenance activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Systematically repair, adjust, and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery using established maintenance reliability practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement teams, new project activities, and continuous training.
Shift Pattern – 12 hrs:
- 2 Days: 7am‑7pm
- 2 Nights: 7pm‑7am

What We're Looking For
- Practical electrical engineering skills via HNC/HND (NVQ Level 4 apprenticeship or equivalent) and BS7671, or comparable hands‑on experience.
- Understanding of precision instrumentation—repair and calibration—or experience with similar technical equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities, curiosity, and a drive to improve processes and efficiency.
- Adaptability to various electrical power supplies and control systems, willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated or electromechanical machinery, or background in industrial maintenance, robotics, or process engineering with automation exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, test, and modify automated and electromechanical equipment.
- Apply engineering principles drawing on mechanical and electrical knowledge to resolve production issues and enhance efficiency.
- Develop, track, and communicate maintenance metrics to identify, reduce, and eliminate recurring equipment issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on major breakdowns and recurring problems.
