Are you ready to take your EC&I expertise to the next level?

Our client is looking for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join their Energy business – a team working at the forefront of the UK's nuclear and renewable energy transformation. This is a chance to contribute directly to the UK's Net Zero carbon target, supporting both existing power stations and the development of new, advanced reactor technologies.

Why This Role?

This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact. You'll support projects spanning the full lifecycle – from concept and design through to commissioning – across nuclear generation, small modular reactors (SMRs), renewables, and high‑energy industrialUrl such as hydrogen plants and data centres.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, diversity, and continuous improvement. Our client’s culture is built around integrity, inclusion, and support – ensuring that you’re empowered to grow and thrive professionally.

The Challenge

As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll manage and deliver engineering solutions to time, cost, and quality standards across projects of varying size and complexity. Working alongside Principal and Senior Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Operations Managers, your work will directly contribute to safe and efficient operations across the UK energy landscape.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the design, development, testing, and implementation of EC&I systems for nuclear and energy projects.
  • Producing design calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and reports to meet project and regulatory requirements.
  • Applying Systems Engineering principles to new architectures and supporting requirements capture.
  • Contributing across the full project lifecycle künftig – from bid generation and concept design through to detailed development, installation, and commissioning.
  • Preparing design safety documentation and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.
  • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Contributing to technical investigations, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Producing high-quality technical reports and documentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners to enable successful project delivery.

This is a role where your people skills will be as valuable as your technical expertise. You’ll collaborate across multipleเว็บ sites, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that add real value.

What You’ll Bring
  • A degree (BEng / BSc / MEng / MSc) or equivalent in EC&I or a related discipline.
  • Working towards or keen to achieve Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (full support provided).
  • Awareness of civil nuclear plant systems or experience from another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of EC&I principles, design tools, and relevant standards (e.g., BS, IEC, IEEE – particularly IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, and ONR SAPs / TAGs).
  • Understanding of control system lifecycles including specification, design, verification, testing, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with high‑integrity hardware or software‑based control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across diverse technical and non‑technical teams.

If you have a collaborative mindset, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to work on projects that truly matter, this is the role for you.

Why Join Our Client?

In addition to the opportunity to work on transformative energy projects, you’ll receive an excellent benefits package, including:

  • Company‑funded private medical insurance and digital GP service.
  • Life assurance at 4× salary and up to 10 % pension contribution (matched plus additional).
  • Income protection up to 60 % of salary for five years.
  • 24 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to 10 more, plus flexible public holiday swaps.
  • Enhanced parental leave pay and a wide range of wellbeing and family support programmes.

  • Access to financial wellbeing, fertility and menopause support, and lifestyle benefits such as EV schemes and discounts.
