Qualifications

  • Experienced in working with EHCPs, ideally in an FE or secondary education setting.
  • Confident navigating SEND legislation, the Code of Practice, and funding frameworks.
  • Relevant training in SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the annual review process for EHCPs in line with statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring that support outlined in EHCPs is implemented, monitored, and regularly reviewed.
  • Acting as the liaison between local authorities, parents/carers, and college departments.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential records and contributing to funding requests and reporting.
  • Promoting inclusive practice and a learner‑centred approach across the college.
  • Reviewing and making recommendations to the Local Authority on EHCP Consultations.
  • Overseeing the EHCNA process for your designated area of responsibility.

Salary: £38,248 – £39,751 per annum

Hours per week: 37 hours (Monday‑Thursday 7.5 h, Friday 7 h)

Location: Abingdon Campus

Overview

At Abingdon and Witney College we believe every learner deserves the right support to thrive. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) Coordinator to join our inclusive learning support team and help shape brighter futures for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As EHCP Coordinator, you will be the key point of contact for coordinating, reviewing, and implementing Education, Health & Care Plans across the college. You will work closely with students, families, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure all young people receive the tailored support they need to make good progress and reach their full potential.
