A comprehensive secondary school in Scotland is seeking a Principal Teacher to lead and manage educational initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting colleagues, driving curriculum development, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. Candidates must be registered with the GTC Scotland, and the role offers a competitive salary of £66,606 per year.

Subject to the policies and practices of the School and the Council, the duties of principal teachers (in addition to duties of a teacher) include:
Principal Teachers must be given a reduction in weekly class contact to enable these duties, which are in addition to classroom teaching. The extent varies with duties and must be achievable within the 35-hour week, including any classroom duties, as agreed at establishment level.
GTC Registration is required. It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland.
Preferably, candidates are identified after the selection process; however, preferred candidates may be required to assist recruitment checks to ensure timely completion. If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timeframe you may be withdrawn from the process.
Canvassing of elected Members or employees of South Lanarkshire Council shall disqualify the applicant.
Salary: Principal Teacher 6, £66,606 per year. Salary in line with the Teachers' Conditions of Service; may be recalculated to reflect pay accruals for the current school year. Further information on the SNCT Handbook is available as indicated by the council.
