Overview

Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician

Salary: £48,000 plus benefits

Location: West Yorkshire

MC Technical Recruitment are partnered with a leading provider of energy from waste in the West Yorkshire area, seeking an EC&I Technician to join their team. Working on a Monday to Friday, days basis, the EC&I Technician will carry out planned & preventative maintenance across the power generation facility.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned & reactive maintenance on process plant
  • Investigate & rectify electrical faults to minimise plant downtime
  • Support the operations team in daily maintenance activities
  • Respond to breakdowns to ensure continuous operations
  • Recommend plant spares & repairs to Maintenance manager
  • Assist the maintenance manager with statutory inspections
  • Liaise with operations team regarding fault finding & modification to process equipment
  • Working on a days basis to support operations across the site
  • Any other duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements
  • A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/NVQ/Apprenticeship etc.)
  • Proven experience in EfW or relevant sector (Biomass / CCGT / energy from waste / Water)
  • Experience troubleshooting, fault finding and rectifying problems on DCS, SCADA and PLCs
  • Electrical maintenance experience on motors, switchgear, VSDs, control panels, etc.
  • Knowledge of all Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and safe systems of work, RAMS, permit to work, etc.
Location

This is a permanent position based in York; due to the location of the plant, you will need a full UK driving licence to access the site.
