Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has acquired funding to expand its current provision for Eating Disorders Services across Gwent. The additional funding will enable the Specialist Eating Disorders Service to offer early intervention and treatment to adults with eating disorders and young people transitioning from CAMHS. An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Practitioner to join the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Specialist Eating Disorders Service.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Specialist Eating Disorders Service to develop and deliver individual, group and family treatment programmes addressing the complex physical, psychological and psychosocial needs of clients and their families/carers.
  • Provide specialist eating disorder assessments and interventions to clients and their families.
  • Provide education and training to colleagues within the health board and support and supervision to colleagues within the service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support service delivery and quality improvement.
  • Develop and engage in service improvement activities, with a focus on early detection and intervention, inclusivity, person-centred, relationship-based, recovery-focused and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience of working with people with eating disorders is desirable.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Interest in eating disorders and a passion for service improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team to deliver treatment programmes.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
