Early Intervention Clinician (Nurse or OT)

The Oxford Early Intervention Service is a friendly, supportive team with excellent staff retention. We offer specialist training, regular supervision (including behavioural family therapy), and reduced caseloads for keyworkers to ensure high-quality care.

This role can be challenging, supporting people at sensitive points in their lives, but it's highly rewarding--you'll make a real difference with the backing of a motivated MDT. We hold weekly team meetings, focus on evidence-based interventions, and work closely with families, carers, and partner services.

We value team wellbeing with shared lunches and a positive culture. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to research and quality improvement projects. The team enjoys hosting students and consistently receives positive feedback.

Essential: Ability to travel for work (UK driving licence and access to a car required).

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan and implement intervention specific to the needs of patients and their carers. This includes attending weekly MDT meetings.

  • Assess and care planning risk, including understanding and applying safeguarding process.
  • Hold a reduced caseload in the community which entails completing highly complex assessments, including the assessment of risk, identifying needs and develop care plans jointly with patients and carers underpinned by evidence-based practice. You will need to have a good understanding of monitoring risk in the community and to have an understanding and experience of working with patients who experience psychosis.
  • Ensure and monitoring that evidenced interventions for first episodes of psychosis have been provided within time recommended.
  • Cover duty as needed to ensure patients are receiving maximum support to prevent inpatient admissions.
