Job description

We are looking to recruit a flexible, outgoing, motivated, positive, energetic individual to join our team as a Duty Manager. We seek someone who is team-oriented, ambitious, and eager to progress their career in a fun and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to coach and lead our team positively while maintaining successful operations. As Duty Manager, you will oversee the daily management of the facility, ensuring venues are safe, clean, and welcoming for all customers. You will be responsible for upholding high standards, creating positive experiences, ensuring services run smoothly, and complying with health and safety regulations.

You should be customer-focused and serve as a role model for team members, offering ideas and suggestions to enhance leisure and physical activity experiences in the district.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the facility is staffed appropriately to deliver service excellence according to the daily programme.
  2. Communicate daily plans and objectives clearly to all team members.
  3. Coordinate equipment setup and takedown to ensure smooth activities and avoid customer inconvenience.
  4. Engage regularly with customers and team members to gather feedback and understand needs.
  5. Utilize communication channels effectively to maintain high standards and support team members during busy periods.
  6. Organize team rotas and staffing levels to meet programme requirements and budget constraints.
  7. Review and approve weekly timesheets and additional hours against rotas and sign-in/out records.
  8. Handle team recruitment, induction, training, development, appraisals, and performance management.
  9. Monitor daily cleaning schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  10. Ensure team awareness of health and safety responsibilities and participate in refresher training twice yearly.
  11. Complete daily building checks, address safety issues, and ensure equipment and structures are safe.
  12. Conduct pool water tests, monitor conditions, and coordinate maintenance to ensure water quality and safety.
  13. Drive revenue by ensuring facilities are open, safe, and well-maintained.
  14. Manage membership enquiries, including new memberships, suspensions, cancellations, and meeting membership targets.
  15. Coordinate swim school operations, including sign-ups, payments, lesson adjustments, and cancellations.
