Overview

Are you a Duty Manager looking to advance your career? Join our dynamic Sports Department team at the University of Oxford and contribute to cutting-edge research, teaching, and professional services. Oxford University Sport is situated at the iconic sports ground where the world record four-minute mile was first broken. We deliver health and fitness activities to students, staff and the local community, support recognised Oxford University Sports Clubs and lead the strategic direction of sport and physical activity within the Collegiate University. We are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified professional to join the Sports Department team as a Duty Manager working throughout the entire Complex at Iffley Road. As a senior member of operational staff, you will provide full support to the General Manager and team in leading the day-to-day operation of the Sports Complex and contributing to the delivery of quality service provision. Duty Managers work on a well-balanced shift rota which includes evenings, weekends and early mornings. Working hours are an average of 36.5 per week over a set 2-week shift pattern. Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment with the University will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Responsibilities

Lead and support the day-to-day operation of the Sports Complex and contribute to the delivery of quality service provision. Provide full support to the General Manager and team in operational management.

Qualifications
  • Experience in a leisure or sports environment, including junior staff management experience.
  • Current RLSS NPLQ, First Aid at Work and Pool Plant Operator Qualifications.
  • Ability to create and deliver accurate and appropriate verbal and written communications.
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Willingness to act as key holder
  • This role does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visa & Immigration points-based system. We are therefore unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
