Salary: £22,636 per year (actual, term-time only) - £25,584 per year (FTE)

Job type: Term-time only, full-time (37 hours per week), permanent

Art and Food Technician - Term-Time Only

We are supporting a popular, oversubscribed girls' Catholic secondary school with a co-educational Sixth Form in Brentwood, Essex, who are looking to appoint an Art and Food Technician.

This is a term-time only role, ideal for someone practical, organised and keen to support students' learning in creative and food-based subjects.

Key details
  • Salary: £22,636 per annum (actual, term-time only) - LGPS (Fringe) 2025, Scale 4, Point 7
  • Contract: Term-time only, permanent
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday: 8.00am-4.00pm
  • Friday: 8.00am-3.30pm
  • 30-minute unpaid break each day
  • Occasional evening work may be required (e.g. Open Evenings)
Main responsibilities
  • Support the smooth, day-to-day running of the Art and Food departments
  • Prepare materials, ingredients and equipment for practical lessons
  • Set up and clear away classroom and workshop activities
  • Maintain and organise stock, equipment and storage areas
  • Assist with cleaning and basic maintenance of tools, equipment and workspaces
  • Promote and follow health and safety procedures at all times
  • Provide practical and administrative support to teaching staff
  • Support department events and displays of student work where required
