Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensure all drivers are fully trained on transport vocational training, proactive safety training and compliance training, and carry out induction training for new colleagues within the Transport department, including CPC training.
• Carry out training requirements in accordance with industry standards (e.g., VOSA, Tachograph Infringement, and EU hours and regulations).
• Design and implement new equipment training sessions for drivers and shunters.
• Support business needs by conducting periodic training as required, such as retention of Tachograph Infringements and SAFED, and fuel‑improving training.
• Assist with assessment and recruitment of new transport team members across the whole transport network.

Qualifications

• Essential: LGV C+E licence.
• Desirable: DSA, LGV instructor certificate, SAFED (safe and fuel‑efficient driving), Adult Education training certificate.

Work Details

Position: Driver Trainer (full‑time, permanent) on the busy Screwfix contract based at Lichfield. The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with start times ranging from 3 am to 10 am for 9‑hour shifts, requiring occasional flexibility.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: £41,499.82 – £43,122.85 per annum.
