Job summary

A reputable healthcare organization in Scotland is seeking a part-time Domestic Services Assistant. The role involves providing essential cleaning services to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Applicants should have a knowledge of cleaning standards and effective communication skills. Required training will be provided. The Role

Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire premises through effective and efficient methods that deliver a safe and welcoming environment and meet required NHS Lanarkshire and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

What we’ll need you to bring
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction (4‑6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across a range of duties
  • Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual task
  • Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following risk assessment
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
  • Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
  • Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have
  • Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Experience working within a domestic services/cleaning environment
  • Knowledge of systems and processes eg HAI; Manual Handling; Management of Aggression; Infection Control; COSHH; Fire Safety
  • Use of range of electrical cleaning equipment
  • Flexible
  • Willing to learn
  • Ability to work under pressure

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Domestic Services within Coathill Hospital.

Working pattern for this role -

14.8 hours Monday -Thursday 16.00pm -19.00pm and Fri 16.00pm - 18.48pm
