Description

Do you want to be a part of the positive impact we make to our dogs lives everyday? We're looking for a Dog Welfare Supervisor, who will motivate, manage and support our Dog Welfare Assistants, as they provide excellent care to all dogs living in the rehoming centre.

What does this role do?

As Dog Welfare Supervisor, you’ll:

  • supervise and support Dog Welfare Assistants to ensure our four-legged friends get their daily exercise, training and enrichment, and that their kennels are clean and comfortable until we find them their forever home,
  • co-ordinate the kennel block, helping with induction and training, completing monthly supervisions, and making sure Dog Welfare Assistants feel supported at work,
  • continuous drive high standards of dog care, ensuring processes and procedures are followed,
  • occasionally act as site supervisor, on a rota basis.
Could this be you?

To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent knowledge of dog welfare and experience of working in rehoming. You'll need to lead by example, as you won’t be line managing people, but you’ll be supervising staff as they complete day‑to‑day tasks. Additionally, a positive and pro‑active attitude and an ambition to make sure our dogs receive the best standard of care is essential. A full, manual driving licence is also essential, as driving will be a part of the role.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they can find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family‑community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust, and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.
