Qualifications

Job description

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
  • Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service
  • Listening uning the needs of customers and offering expertise and advice
  • Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offering guidance to ensure they receive the best product suited to their needs
  • Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally
  • Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements
Requirements and Qualifications

Must‑haves:

  • Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
  • Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement

Desirable:

  • Ability to embrace new technologies

Need To Know

Dispensing Opticians! We are looking for a passionate Dispensing Optician to join us in our Paignton practice.

This position is full‑time, working 5 days a week – ideally, we are looking for someone who has availability across Saturday and Sunday. Paignton would be your base practice, but we would like the successful candidate to be open to working in Torquay and Newton Abbott if required.

The Paignton practice sits on the main high street and is within easy walking distance to the beach – perfect for those lunch break steps! This is a busy, free‑standing practice within amazing opportunities for children’s dispensing. Whilst the practice does not have parking, it is within a short 5‑minute walk to the train and bus stations.
