Disability Teaching Assistant
Location: Blandford Forum
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

About the Role

As a Disability Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with physical or learning disabilities are fully included in the classroom and wider school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to pupils with disabilities, both in lessons and around school.
• Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and classroom activities to meet students’ needs.
• Support students with mobility, communication, or personal care when required.
• Monitor progress and report on student development to teachers and SENCOs.
• Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in all school settings.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to provide consistent support.

Requirements

• CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology, Special Needs).
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with disabilities.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
