Job summary

A professional healthcare provider in Plymouth is seeking a Disability Assessor to conduct client assessments and produce reports to help determine eligibility for benefits. Job description
What does the Disability Assessor role involve?

The role will involve you carrying out 3-4 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.>

What is on offer as a Disability Assessor?
  • Excellent starting salary at £39,500pa
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
  • Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
  • Plymouth based when needing to work in the office (minimum of 1 day per week)
  • Annual leave + bank holidays + the ability to buy or sell 5 more days

  • NMC or HCPC fees paid for and CP support provided
What we look for
  • An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post registration experience
  • Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competent IT computer skills
  • Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
