Role Overview

You are a Director of Environment & Regulatory Services at Caerphilly County Borough Council. You will lead the delivery of the Council's Environment & Regulatory Service in terms of both strategy and management responsibility, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused services and supporting the Council’s strategic direction and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic lead for Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Registrars, Sport & Leisure, Community Centres, Green Spaces & Cemeteries, Emergency Planning, Community Safety.
  • Set, model, and embed a culture that reflects the organisation’s values and behaviours, developing strong working relationships to overcome obstacles.
  • Support staff to deliver services that make a tangible difference to our customers.
Qualifications
  • A professional degree qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • A postgraduate management qualification, or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
  • Chartered Membership of a recognised relevant professional institution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the range of policy and operational issues confronting Environment and Regulatory services, and local government generally.
  • Experience of Senior Management and Leadership.
