CIVIL ENGINEERING LEADER

£100,000 plus benefits

Role

This leading multidisciplinary practice of Architects, Engineers and Planners continues to win highly prized projects, creating the need for a Civil Engineering Leader (Senior Associate Director/Director) to manage teams delivering international projects. As a Team Manager you will be proficient in undertaking all aspects of design and coordination of civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in team management and leadership. If you are client focused, driven, have strong leadership skills, enjoy managing teams, and possess good technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, this role is for you.

Our client provides services including civil engineering design, procurement, coordination, and project management to support clients through the whole project life cycle. They offer a fully multidisciplinary consultancy service or standalone specialist technical services for projects in excess of £100 million in value.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and leading project teams
  • Working closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects (architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost managers)
  • Assessing resource levels to deliver challenging projects
  • Managing/mentoring engineers and technicians towards Chartered status
  • Prepare client / project proposals to win new work
  • Representing our client at project meetings to present designs and make key project decisions
  • Preparing proposals and managing project costs
  • Construct project teams from internal and external resources
  • Project profitability (monitoring / planning of costs and budgets)
  • Procure project resources
  • Manage and co-ordinate highways and drainage designs relating to large development infrastructure projects
  • Produce Flood Risk Assessments (FRA’s), Drainage Strategies, Nutrient Mitigation and other Pre-Planning advice
  • Provide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem-solving
Requirements

It is hoped that you will be Chartered Civil Engineer with familiarity of BIM, working to British Standards and the ability to understand the design process and possess strong technical skills, knowledge and experience to find creative solutions for even the most complex challenges and the ability to communicate these clearly to all parties.
