Job summary

A local government authority is seeking a Digital Programme Manager to lead the delivery of digital transformation projects. The Role

As Digital Programme Manager, you will turn our Digital Vision and Strategy into reality. You will lead the delivery of a portfolio of digital projects that streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and enable a digitally confident workforce.

  • Drive the digital transformation programme, ensuring projects deliver agreed outcomes, benefits, and timelines.
  • Act as the technical lead for digital, bridging services and IT infrastructure.
  • Support Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) by implementing digital solutions and embedding new ways of working.
  • Champion Agile and Lean practices, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Produce robust business cases with clear ROI and resource implications.
  • Lead horizon scanning for emerging technologies and best practice.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive experience in digital programme delivery within complex stakeholder environments.
  • Brings strong knowledge of digital technologies (cloud, data analytics, AI, CRM) and digital service standards (e.g., GDS principles).
  • Is an inspiring leader who can coach teams, influence senior stakeholders, and embed cultural change.
  • Demonstrates resilience, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
