Job Description
As Digital Officer at Cool Earth, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating brand awareness and engagement to help secure our ambitious long-term goals.
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be instrumental in helping us create and deliver compelling and engaging content that targets people who want to take climate action. You’ll work across all Cool Earth’s digital platforms, from social media and web content, to emails and paid ads.

Responsibilities
You will support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the day-to-day delivery of the digital marketing strategy, including social media, website, and email, to help reach ambitious organisational goals.
Core Responsibilities and Strategy
- Proactively contribute towards Cool Earth’s Digital Marketing KPIs.
- Monitor evolving digital trends and best practices to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.
- Ensure correct use of the Cool Earth brand internally and externally across all digital channels.
Content Creation
- Develop engaging content and copy for key audiences across various formats (e.g., video, blogs, email, social posts, reports).
- Create visual assets for organic social, paid ads, email, and the website using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Edit and produce short-form video content.
Social Media
- Lead on creating and scheduling compelling, high-quality organic content.
- Support with planning and content creation for paid advertisements.
- Lead on community management to increase engagement and conversions.
Website Management
- Lead on website content population (WordPress), including writing and uploading blogs and case studies.
- Support ongoing website optimisation efforts, including user experience, journeys, SEO/AEO, and accessibility.
- Ensure website guidelines and housekeeping rules are followed across the organisation.
Email Marketing
- Support writing, building, and scheduling emails via DotDigital and Salesforce to segmented audiences.
- Identify opportunities and create marketing automations where possible.
Reporting and Optimisation
- Monitor and review performance of all digital marketing channels for analytical reporting.
- Provide clear recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
- Implement tests and optimisation strategies to proactively grow the supporter base, increase engagements, and improve conversion rates.
Role Requirements
It is essential to us that you have/are the following:
- Demonstrable experience of managing digital media channels and the ability to analyse their contribution to performance and insights across SEO, organic and paid social and email marketing.
- Experience in content creation across website, social media and email, including in-platform tools and digital marketing software such as Canva.
- Experience delivering copy and content for a range of communications outputs (reports, emails, events, social media, website).
- High level of IT competency and practical experience of digital communications software including social media platforms, Google Analytics, content management systems (especially WordPress) and email marketing software (especially DotDigital).
- Experience interpreting complex and innovative information to communicate to diverse audiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with people across cultures and time zones.
- The ability to think creatively and generate ideas for campaigns that create genuine engagement within digital communities.
- A genuine enthusiasm for digital communications and emerging technologies
- Excellent project management skills, including time and task management as well as resource management.
- A demonstrable commitment to DE&I (diversity, equity & inclusion).
- You’re fluent in spoken and written English, and highly competent with Google and Microsoft Office tools.
- You have a genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian and environmental principles of Cool Earth.

It would be great, but not essential, if you also have:
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish.
- Experience supporting or working with environmental, climate or international development programmes.
