Job summary

A government organization in Manchester is seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide technical support, mentor junior developers, and improve Cyber Security tooling and services. Job description

As a DevOps Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting platform use and configuration issues.
2. Supporting and mentoring junior developers.
3. Developing, maintaining, and continuously improving in-house automation platforms, scripts, and services.
4. Contributing to routine monitoring activities, identifying performance improvements, and security enhancements.
5. Managing end-to-end technical onboarding of new systems into the Cyber Security environment.
6. Developing, maintaining, and improving Cyber Security tooling and services.
7. Supporting Cyber Security functions with technical expertise and advice.

Due to the need to maintain services 24/7, there may be occasions requiring out-of-hours work, for which additional allowances will be provided.

Where possible, roles may combine office and home-based work. Employees are expected to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office. Travel to the Manchester office will be required for the successful candidate.
