A luxury fashion retailer in Manchester is seeking a Creative Designer to join their team. The role involves researching trends, developing fabric stories, and creating technical packs for designs. Ideal candidates will have at least 4 years' experience in slow-fashion or luxury environments, with an emphasis on understanding the brand's aesthetic. We are looking for a creative Designer to join the growing design team at Club L London.
Research, develop and create moodboards, colour palettes and fabric stories for upcoming collections.
Source and develop new fabrications, techniques and trimmings, applying expert understanding across all fabric bases and garment constructions.
Design across multi-product categories, identifying key shapes for the season and key product opportunities.
Create technical packs for your designs including information on construction, measurements, fabrication & trimmings.
Work closely with the Garment Tech team and Pattern Cutters during the design development stage to ensure optimum execution of first samples.
Attend fit sessions to ensure designs are executed according to the techpack and to the Club L London standards.
Manage all sample queries from suppliers during sample development stage.
Plan and work closely with in-house Merch teams, collaborating to create fresh product and collections in line with key trading periods.
Involvement in Trade, Critical Path and Process meetings etc.
Build key relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Partake in sourcing trips and inspiration trips nationally and overseas.
At least 4 years' experience, preferably within slow-fashion / luxury environment.
Multi-product ladieswear experience and / or focus on dresses / occasionwear.
Specialities (e.g. tailoring, swimwear, curve / petite, embroidery / embellishment etc) are also encouraged.
Understanding of the brand's handwriting and ability to adapt design skills to this.
Good technical experience for creating techpacks.
Sound understanding of design software (e.g. Adobe platforms).
Able to demonstrate Club L's key values : collaboration, creativity and confidence.
