This role is key, giving you responsibility to create new product designs from concept through to production.

Commutable from: Birmingham, Redditch, Studley, Coventry, Bromsgrove, Earlswood, Solihull, Stratford Upon Avon, Kidderminster, Leamington Spa, Alcester, Evesham, and Halesowen.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create new product designs from concept through to production
  • Conduct design changes to existing products
  • Attend NPI meetings
  • Work with a wide range of materials, such as plastic injection mould, castings, and metals
  • This is a multi-dimensional role, with a range of projects on the go, at any one time
  • Work closely with customers and suppliers
  • Drive cost reduction projects
  • BOM and Part creation, drawing revision, and Issues control
  • Familiar with computer simulation and modelling programs
  • If experienced, review Design Engineers work
REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant Qualifications to support experience, ideally to Degree level
  • Exposure to 3D & “D CAD, such as Solidworks or CATIA
  • Experience gained from within a manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Knowledge of diecast, moulded, pressed, or machined parts would be advantageous
  • This role suits a friendly, sociable character
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to build relationships
