A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to work alongside the Nursery Manager. The successful candidate will support staff development and training, create engaging learning environments, and ensure that the individual needs of children are met. This role involves both assisting in day-to-day operations and taking responsibility in the absence of the Nursery Manager, emphasizing strong communication and safeguarding practices. A background in nursery settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents and staff.
• Experience in a nursery setting or similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework.

Job description

Overview

Our client is looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to work closely with and be supported by the Nursery Manager.

Responsibilities

• To support and deputise for the Nursery Manager as and when required
• Assisting with staff development and training
• Attending regular staff meetings and assisting with nursery events outside core hours
• Assisting the manager in showing parents / carers around the setting's facilities and sending out information
• Liaising with parents / carers, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met, and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given
• Supporting staff in the roll out of the new EYFS framework
• Reporting any concerns to the Nursery Manager
• Creating fun learning environments both indoors and outdoors
• Assisting the nursery manager with the efficient upkeep of the building and maintenance / stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings

Safeguarding is core to the role.
