Deputy Children\'s Home Manager - EBD

  • Location: Littlehampton
  • Salary: From £33,664 per annum PLUS additional 3,000 - 6,000 sleep in payments.
  • Hours: Full time 39 hours working shifts and office days
About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Therapeutic Manager to join our Children\'s home in Littlehampton. You will be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a Service Manager and Registered Manager. You will be responsible for delivery of quality care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home and all day to day management matters. You will lead your team along with other professionals, providing the therapeutic care and support needed for each individual child focused on obtaining the best outcomes. You will act as a positive role model to colleagues and children to meet their everyday living needs, developing trusting relationships that create recovery, growth and lasting change. You will supervise and mentor staff, organise work patterns, facilitate care focused training and access appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children\'s home in alignment with therapeutic care principles.
  • Deliver quality care services and contribute to strategic planning and development within the home.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff; supervise and support care teams.
  • Coordinate training and ensure access to appropriate services to support childcare practices.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within Children\'s residential care.
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in children\'s residential workforce or related health and social care qualifications.
  • Related knowledge of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Highly driven, proactive and enthusiastic; strong people management skills.
  • Experience with budgets and rostering.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly in caring for the children, including shifts and sleep-ins.
