You will be responsible for supporting your service manager to set the culture of your service. You will lead and inspire the teams to ensure that everyone within it lives and breathes our philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Support the service manager to set the culture of the service and lead teams to embody our philosophy.
• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the team to help people we support achieve their goals.
• Manage and develop the team to deliver person-centred care and support.
• Lead and support through recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management, sickness and absence management.
• Ensure all people we support have person-centred support/care plans and can create or update these plans as needed.
• Oversee and develop quality within the service and maintain excellent service user records to empower service users to live life in their chosen manner.
• Promote inter-department collaboration and adapt to a fast-paced environment focused on enhancing the lives of the people we support.
• Comply with requirements and hold a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience of residential care in a small residential setting (7 beds) is desirable.
• Experience of managing a team of at least 25 staff to provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities.
• Experience of inter-department working and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
• You must have or be working towards an NVQ level 5 in Health and Social Care.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs.
• Experience of conditions such as PICA.
• Experience with auditing and leading from the front, and helping Support Workers understand their responsibilities to ensure safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led care at all times.
• Proactive in developing the skills of Support Workers and supporting recruitment, induction, supervisions, appraisals, training, coaching, and absence management.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
